  • 950,00 €

Since the first transaction in 1982, e-commerce has grown rather slowly at first, but has gained momentum over the last 10 years and exploded with the Covid-19 crisis. If the majority of sales are still often made through physical retail, the share of e-commerce has increased in 2 months as much as in the last 10 years! And some giants like Amazon or Alibaba or marketplaces like Booking, Expedia, Airbnb,... are now shaking century-old companies or major hypermarkets, once also accused of hegemony. Companies that failed to invest in technology and skills were often already lagging behind in their field. With the Covid-19, they feel more than sorry for themselves.

However, this umbrella term of e-commerce hides a multitude of possibilities: mobile commerce, social commerce, virtual commerce and voice commerce. With the HUB Institute, we have identified no less than 15 different types of e-commerce in our latest repository!

This HUBREPORT is the first of a series of 3 dedicated to e-commerce. In this first part, we discuss the trends and numbers of e-commerce post covid, social commerce and lifestream shopping which has become essential in China. Over the next 5 years, e-commerce and more globally omnichannel commerce will shuffle the cards in many industries. Dive in with us into the key trends to support your business!
