Since the first transaction in 1982, e-commerce has grown rather slowly at first, but has gained momentum over the last 10 years and exploded with the Covid-19 crisis. If the majority of sales are still often made through physical retail, the share of e-commerce has increased in 2 months as much as in the last 10 years! And some giants like Amazon or Alibaba or marketplaces like Booking, Expedia, Airbnb,... are now shaking century-old companies or major hypermarkets, once also accused of hegemony.
