The year 2022 started at the HUB Institute with the resumption of our discovery trips, to Las Vegas for CES, and to New York for NRF, and with our traditional visit to the city's innovative stores. Our impressions and insights were shared throughout the Retail & E- Commerce Immersive Experience, which ended on February 8 and 9 at the Palais Brongniart, during the HUBDAY Future of Retail & E- Commerce. A return to good habits with these Learning Expeditions and the resumption of our physical events, but with the impression that much has changed in 2 years.

Some markers of digital transformation in retail are still relevant, such as the use of digital tools at the point of sale, the search for omnichannelity and the personalization of the customer relationship. Others are becoming more pronounced, such as retailtainement, to attract consumers back into the store, with immersive scenographies and fun experiences. In addition, changing habits and awareness of individuals are leading to the emergence of new consumption modes, which retailers must integrate to remain relevant in the market.

Finally, the year 2022 will see the retail industry in turmoil around the concept of the metaverse: we anticipate a wider disruption, that of 3D commerce.
